COP on the Hill: Stories from the week of October 6, 2023
Posted October 31st, 2023 by hiwayhowieWeekly Activities:
No Sale: I had a long, 35 M chat with the legislative director for a Michigan Republican this week. Despite my sole request being to look into increased treatment access for fenti addicts, he launched into 1) marijuana had not been proven safe and more studies needed to be done. 2) perhaps a wall would stop the fenti coming from Mexico 3) more support/money for the police and other stuff, etc…It had been a long time since someone in Congress had used ideas from the last century to use in a chat…
PS…in case you did not know, there is essentially zero.zero heroin being sold in USA.
Spiritual Help: After lunch 2 gentlemen and their wives stopped by and thanked me for my service as an officer. We got into a 10-minute chat about how much the nation / Members of Congress needed God’s help to put us back on track. Turns out they were the Christian and Jewish chaplains for the House. Yes, a paid position.
