Cops on the Hill: Stories from the weeks of July 15 and 22, 2022
Posted July 19th, 2022 by hiwayhowieCelebrate Progress: On the 10th I gathered at the private home of long-time activist and LEAP speaker, Dick Kennedy to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the legalization of marijuana in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It was a sentimental and powerful feeling to pass a few hours with dedicated volunteers who made it all happen.
Doing Nothing is Unacceptable: One meeting in 2 weeks is unbearable. Thus, I left this week for Iowa and the 2022 RAGBRAI event. Recall the Three Amigos went out in 2019 to meet/ride with a few presidential candidates. Recall my accident at mile 6, breaking 3 ribs and a shoulder. Recall I “damned the torpedoes” and rode the last 70 miles on the 7th day, having good chats every 8-10 minutes, as 24,000 of my closest friends rode by me much faster…..I promise to keep a better eye out for the potholes in the road, lest my family follows thru on their promise to dump me out of the casket and beat to death a Second Time!

All contributions are tax-deductible. 40 dollars buys all the copy paper COP uses in one year. Law Enforcement’s voice in opposition to current policy is vital on the Hill to achieve a repeal of federal drug prohibition. COP provides that voice. www.citizensopposingprohibition.org
